How to Set Up Authorize.net in your Shopify Store

Sign Up for Authorize.net

To switch payment providers, you will first need to create an account with Authorize.net.

Deactivate Test Mode in Authorize.net

Authorize.net accounts are set to test mode by default. Before you can accept payments through Shopify, you will need to deactivate test mode by following the steps below.

1. Log into the Authorize.net Merchant Interface

2. Select "Settings" under "Account" in the main menu

3. In the "Security Settings" section, click "Test Mode"

4. Click "Turn Test OFF" to disable test mode

Activate Authorize.net in Shopify

Once Authorize.net is successfully configured and test mode is disabled, it is ready to be installed in Shopify using the steps below.

1. Log into your Shopify admin account

2. Click "Settings" on the bottom left corner of the screen and then select "Payments"

3. Click "Manage"

4. Click "Manage payment methods"

5. Click "Deactivate Shopify Payments" and then "Confirm"

6. Click "See all other providers"

7. In the payment provider section, search and select "Authorize.net"

8. Click "Install" and then "Connect to Authorize.net"

9. Enter your Authorize.net credentials, then click "Activate"

10. Click "Save"
